This will be the first meeting in the revitalized and revamped bookclub discussion. We found that it was hard to find our members in Borders. In response, we will have more intimate locations, and combine it with sampling ethnic cuisine from restaurants around town. In the future, we may also hold these in private homes and discuss our monthly book while we prepare an ethnic based meal.
This month, we will be discussing They Poured Fire on Us From The Sky, which is based in Sudan. Unfortunately, Nashville doesn't have a Sudanese restaurant, so we will instead visit nearby Ghana by dining at Gye Nyame. A review of the restaurant can be found at
Feel free to come even if you haven't read the book. We will also discuss The Committee and UNIFEM's current work in the region while we have a great dinner. PLEASE RSVP so I can make a reservation with a proper headcount!!
